Relax A Little - Lose Some Stress And Enjoy Your Life
These days we blame stress for everything: failed tests, poor health, forgotten relationships. But many who feel a bit overworked don’t take the time to do anything about it.
Did you know that spending at least 10 minutes each day relaxing without any distractions or worries could add years to your life?
It’s quite simple. All you need is a comfortable place to be and the will power to make time in your busy schedule. I like to sit in my cool, quiet bedroom for a while after dinner.
There are many things you can do to relax. One is listening to soothing music, like mellow acoustics or calming classical. Play it softly and lie back into oblivion.
Another way to rest without risking falling asleep when you don’t have the time is to write in a journal. Writing will help your thoughts unwind and allow you to let out any frustrations without hurting something or someone. Journals also provide a peek into your past, if you keep them for a long time. You’d probably be intersted to know at age 50 what you did when you were a teen.
My favorite calming activity by far is reading. Just sitting in a comfy chair with a good book and no interruptions can calm the mind and open thoughts to whole new ideas.
The easiest way to relax for a few minutes is to block out all distractions, close your eyes, and THINK. Working out the day’s troubles in your head will make you a much more agreeable person with a handle on life.
If nothing else suits you and you have the time, take a nap. A little sleep rarely hurts, and you’ll wake up ready to look at the rest of your day with fresh eyes.
