Hart & Associates continues to exist as a broker-dealer, co-owner Ron Benzel said Monday.

An article in Monday’s The Spokesman-Review implied the company was defunct as a result of the departure of founder Don Hart and son Craig Hart.

Benzel said he and three other partners; Jim Mitchell, Kirk Bierwagen and Dave Smith, bought out Don Hart in 1996.

Both Harts left last year to start another firm, Hart Capital Management Inc. There are no ties between Hart & Associates and Hart Capital Management, Benzel said. , DataTimes
