Continental To Buy 15 Boeing 737 Jets

Continental Airlines Inc. will buy 15 Boeing Co. 737-900 planes worth as much as $855 million as it replaces older aircraft and tries to cut costs.

The new planes, which carry 170 passengers, are to be delivered between May 2001 and July 2002, the Houston-based carrier said.
