Duo To Perform At Panida

The Panida Theater in Sandpoint will host classical guitarist Scott Kritzer and singer Janet Chvatal in concert at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The duo will perform songs from Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera” as well as favorites like Schubert’s “Ave Marie” and American folk song classics. The two have been performing together since 1994.

Chvatal has performed solo recitals in England, Germany, France, Austria and the United States. She performed the role of Christine in “The Phantom of the Opera” for two years in Vienna, Austria.

Kritzer has performed to rave reviews in New York, San Francisco, London and Sapporo, Japan. A graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Kritzer studied with Michael Lorimer and Aaron Shearer as well as Luciano Pavorotti.

Tickets for the event are $9.50 for adults and $5.50 for youth under the age of 18. They can be purchased in Sandpoint at Eve’s Leaves, 326 N. First; the Lyman Gallery in the Old Power House, 120 E. Lake St., or by calling the Pend Oreille Arts Council at (208) 263-6139.
