Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: In a recent column a lady said that when she is through with magazines she shares them with nursing homes, doctors’ offices and hospitals.

A fine gesture, but I have a suggestion. First, cut off the labels showing your name and address. I didn’t when I gave some magazines away many years ago. Before long I got a letter from the sheriff’s office ordering me to appear for a hearing as to why I had dumped magazines in a ditch along a county road! - Alex Orr, Tyler, Texas

A good reminder indeed, and if you are passing along catalogs, be sure to check the inside order form, as it may have your info on it, too. - Heloise

Send a money- or time-saving hint to Heloise, PO Box 795000, San Antonio TX 78279-5000 or fax it to 210-HELOISE. I can’t answer your letter personally but will use the best hints received in my column.
