Water Board To Weigh Kootenai County Grant

The Idaho Water Resource Board will meet Friday in Boise to consider a $5,000 grant to help pay for reconstruction of the Hayden Lake dike.

Kootenai County is rebuilding a spillway in the dike that was constructed last year as an emergency measure to prevent a breach of the dike during high water.

The board also will discuss a request from the North Kootenai Water District for revenue bond financing of up to $2 million for the purchase of the Allied (Hayden Pines) Water Co.

The water district has attempted to purchase the water company, but has been unable to reach an agreement with the owner.
