The U.S. women’s soccer team sustained the worst loss in its 13-year history, falling 4-1 to reigning World Cup champion Norway in the Algarve Cup.

Needing only a tie to move into the finals, the Americans were overwhelmed and will meet Sweden for third place on Saturday. Norway will go after the title against Denmark the same day.

Trim, a 5-year-old male husky from Linda Joy’s Iditarod team, died Wednesday night during the Shaktoolik-to-Koyuk run of the 1,100-mile mushing marathon, race marshal Mark Norman said.

The Atlanta Glory, beset with a poor financial showing, will move to another city for the 1998-99 American Basketball League season. The team’s new home will be announced in two weeks.
