Nic Plans Fee Hike Of $27 A Semester
Tuition and fees at North Idaho College would go up $27 per semester next year under a proposal expected to be voted on Wednesday by the Board of Trustees.
The increase, $25 in tuition and $2 in student insurance, would raise in-state yearly tuition to $1,128 and out-of-state tuition to $3,660.
College officials expect to have a budget shortfall in 1998-99 of $224,150 and say the increased tuition would reduce that deficit to $72,150.
The school’s student government supports the increase but says it should not be enacted until spring 1999.
The Board of Trustees will have a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in Todd Hall to discuss the increase. The board’s regular meeting is at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
