Street May Miss Season; Retirement A Possibility
Picabo Street might have to miss all of next ski season to recover from injuries to both legs, and it’s possible the Olympic gold medalist may retire, her agent says.
“Racing next year and racing again are not necessarily the same question,” agent Brad Hunt said. “She realizes those questions are within arm’s reach, and she’s going to have to address them.
Street, 27, fractured her upper left leg during a crash last week during a downhill at the World Cup finals in Switzerland. Doctors later discovered she also ruptured her right anterior cruciate knee ligament.
Hunt has recommended that Street not give interviews until she has decided when to undergo surgery on her right knee.
