Hints From Heloise

Dear Heloise: When putting pillowcases on overstuffed pillows, simply turn the pillowcase inside out. Grab the end corners of the pillow and pull the case over it.

Before hanging out clothes, I always put them in the dryer for 10 minutes. The heat takes the wrinkles out and they need less ironing. - Janice Gilbert, Spokane

Dear Heloise: Coming down from Alaska on the ferry we were surprised to see a buttonhole in the corner of each napkin. It makes it so easy to keep them in place when buttoned to a shirt or blouse.

When I made buttonholes in the corners of cloth napkins at home, folks all thought it was a great idea. I even tear a corner hole in paper napkins to hold them in place.

I love your suggestions and hope you’ll add this to them! - Ruth Davis, Orlando, Fla.

A buttonhole sure makes it easy to keep a napkin on. It is a great idea, especially for children. Most kids don’t want paper napkins tucked in their shirts, but this way they don’t feel it. Thanks for sharing the idea with us. - Heloise
