Bob and Carol Franzen, Spokane, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at Fourth Memorial Church from 2 to 4 p.m. today.

Hosts for the event will be their children and spouses: Linda Rash, Kennewick; Gary and Pamela Maddess-Franzen, Tacoma; Larry and Cheryl Watts, Spokane; and Jeff and Erica Franzen, Bellevue.

The Franzens were married March 24, 1948, in Seattle. They have eight grandchildren.
