Dear Heloise: I always enjoy all your helpful hints! I love to work the daily crossword puzzles but don’t always have the time, so I save them in a manila envelope and take them along on trips or doctor visits and work them at my leisure.

While I was away this summer my husband kept all my puzzles in order for me while I was gone. Now I can work them and check my answers. - Carol Hardin, Phoenix

Don’t throw away:

the ends of juice cans; clean them and glue pictures to one side and a magnet to the other and put on the refrigerator.

scattered beads; make them into key chains.

1 plant cuttings; give them to friends and family to start new plants.

wilted flowers; let them dry and use for wreath decorations.

chipped dishes; use them for pet dishes or to put under flowerpots. - Heloise
