How To Get That ‘Didn’t-Just-Wash-Your-Hair’ Look

Michael Precker The Dallas Morning News

As everyone knows, there’s simply nothing in the world worse than washing your hair and then looking as if you … just washed your hair.

Luckily, fashion scientists have been working on this problem for a while now, concocting various waxes and gels to restore that grunge look even before you step out of the bathroom.

The Toni & Guy hair salon chain has one of the best product names with Bed Head, a waxy, push-up stick that looks like a roll-on deodorant ($17.95 a tube). But it may have been eclipsed by a hot new Seattle salon called Vain.

Vain’s new shampoo is called 2nd Day Hair, and the 8-ounce bottle promises “shampoo for marginally clean hair.”

And once your hair is marginally clean, apply Vain’s Dirty Boy, Dirty Girl, a purple potion subtitled “Hair Goo for the rumpled masses.”

The shampoo’s wholesale price is $3.25 and a 4-ounce jar of goo wholesales for $3.50. Vain’s distributors haven’t reached every market, but founder Victoria Gentry says she hopes to be smearing your area soon.
