Abc’s ‘20/20’ To Feature Dibartolo Case
Convicted murderer Tom DiBartolo gets national exposure Monday evening when ABC’s “20/20” spends nearly a half-hour focusing on the former Spokane County sheriff’s deputy’s recent trial.
The 22-minute segment will feature the only interview DiBartolo has granted since being convicted of murder Dec. 12.
The show airs 9 to 10 p.m. on KXLY-TV.
A Spokane jury convicted DiBartolo of murdering his wife, Patty, during a November 1996 walk through a south Spokane park.
He said two black men approached them, asked for money and then took a gun from their car. During a struggle with one gunman, the gun fired twice, killing his wife and wounding him, DiBartolo said.
DiBartolo is serving a 26-year prison term at the Shelton Corrections Center.
