George Winn Coeur d’Alene
Visitation for George E. Winn, 93, will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Forest Cemetery, Riverview Section.
Mr. Winn, who was born in Utah, died Wednesday.
He grew up in Heyburn, Idaho, and then moved to the Pocatello, Idaho, area where he farmed and worked for the railroad.
Mr. Winn moved to San Francisco in 1939 and worked as a welder in the shipyards during World War II and then later for various companies, retiring from L.O.X. Manufacturing in 1969.
He returned to Heyburn in 1972 and moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1988 to be near family.
Mr. Winn was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Checkmates Square Dancing Club and the Hammond Organ Society.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Winn of California; a daughter, Carol Cleave of Silverdale, Wash.; one brother; two sisters; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Edith Taylor Moscow, Idaho
Viewing for Edith Ethel Taylor, 76, will be today and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow. Graveside service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery near Deary, Idaho. Mrs. Taylor, who was born in Helmer, Idaho, near Deary, died Thursday.
She grew up near Deary and worked as a cook for the Forest Service and in 1955 moved to St. Maries where she cooked for the Forest Service and logging camps.
Mrs. Taylor moved to Fernwood, Idaho, in the 1960s and to Latah Health Services in Moscow in 1996.
Her husband of 26 years, Mack, died in 1964.
Survivors include a daughter, Harriet McCall of Fernwood; two brothers, Donald Wood of St. Maries and Jack Wood of St. John, Wash.; two sisters, Edna Knifong and Joan Howell, both of Oregon; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Anita Garcia Plummer, Idaho
No service will be held for Anita G. Garcia, 48, at her request. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Garcia, who was born in Trinidad, Colo., died Tuesday.
She moved to Mullan, Idaho, in 1954 and graduated from Wallace High School and attended Spokane Community College.
Ms. Garcia had worked as a secretary and counselor in the health care field.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond Garcia of Japan and Ted Miller of Anchorage, Alaska; her mother, Bernice Garcia of Coeur d’Alene; four brothers, Ernie and Daniel Garcia, both of Sandpoint, Raymond Garcia of Oregon and Jim Garcia of Puyallup, Wash.; and a sister, Judy Schilling of Kamiah, Idaho.
Gordon Breithaupt Post Falls
Service for Gordon James Breithaupt, 82, will be today at 11 a.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, Last Supper Section.
Mr. Breithaupt, who was born in Dubuque, Iowa, died Friday from complications following heart surgery.
He grew up in Iowa and served as a rifleman in the Army during World War II and then worked as a blast furnace tender for The National Gypsum Co.
Mr. Breithaupt moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1958 and worked in sales and installation in the roofing and siding business.
He worked for Square Deal Roofing and Siding from 1980 until retiring in 1990.
Mr. Breithaupt was a member of Living Hope Church in Coeur d’Alene.
His first wife, Vera, died in 1969.
Survivors include his wife, Lola; two sons, Gordon Breithaupt Jr. of Florida and Kurt Breithaupt of Montana; two daughters, Nancy Walker and Cindy Pittsly, both of Post Falls; five stepsons, Glen Cooper of Montana, Terry Cooper of Coeur d’Alene, Melvin and Donny Cooper, both of Colorado, and Rickey Cooper of Alabama; a stepdaughter, Darlene Butz of Wyoming; nine grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
Grace Weaver Post Falls
Graveside service for Grace Myrtle Weaver, 75, will be today at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Ms. Weaver, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.
She grew up in Rockford Bay and spent the last 10 years in the Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls areas.
Ms. Weaver was a homemaker and a member of the Kootenai County Baptist Church in Post Falls.
Survivors include two brothers, Earl Warren Sr. of Post Falls and Leonard Hanson of South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce Holmquist Spokane
Memorial service for Joyce E. Holmquist, 60, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Holmquist, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Thursday.
She worked as a cafeteria manager at Shaw Junior High School for many years and retired in 1983.
Mrs. Holmquist was a member of the Independent Order of Friends in Spokane and was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; three sons, Robert Holmquist of Coeur d’Alene, Darrell Holmquist of Nye, Mont., and Darrick Holmquist of Silverton, Idaho; a daughter, Kathryn Braid of Spokane; her stepmother, Verna Baucke of Downey, Idaho; two sisters, Arlene Martin of Spokane and Jackie Prescott of Glendive, Mont.; and nine grandchildren.
