Titanic Battle
The company that dived more than two miles to recover china and gold coins from the Titanic waded into federal court Monday in Norfolk, Va., to try to prevent tourists from getting an up-close look at the wreck. RMS Titanic Inc., which holds salvage rights and photography rights to the wreck, asked the court to bar Deep Ocean Expeditions from charging 60 people $32,500 each to visit the North Atlantic shipwreck in a submersible vessel. RMS is seeking to keep Deep Ocean Expeditions at least 10 nautical miles from the wreck and to keep the firm from interfering with a salvage expedition RMS plans in August and September. RMS also wants a ban on all photography of the wreck by Deep Ocean Expeditions.
