The Coeur d’Alene School District will offer free immunizations Thursday to children registering for kindergarten this fall.

A partnership with Kootenai Medical Center and a grant from the North Idaho Nursing Services Cooperative will provide two nurses at each of the district’s nine elementary schools from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Idaho law requires children to be immunized against hepatitis B, DPT (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis), influenza, polio, measles, mumps and rubella.

Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 to attend kindergarten this fall. To register, parents must bring the child’s immunization record, a state certified birth certificate and address verification.
