Government To Help Solve Y-2-K Problem
The Clinton administration will help the nation’s small manufacturers fight the millennium bug, Commerce Secretary William Daley said Monday.
Commerce field personnel will hold a series of seminars to inform small businesses of the risks and possible solutions to the “Year 2000” computer glitch.
The problem, known as “Y-2-K,” exists because some computer software cannot differentiate between the years 1900 and 2000 and could disrupt businesses and institutions that rely on computer software.
