Fay (Shively) Kautz Spokane

Fay (Shively) Kautz of Spokane celebrated her 100th birthday Sunday with a gathering at the Eagles Lodge.

She was born May 17, 1898, in New Orbin, Wis., one of 11 children.

The family moved to Eastern Washington in 1907. She and Fred Kautz were married in 1921, and she became a homemaker. Mr. Kautz died in 1965.

Mrs. Kautz loves to knit and crochet doilies and sweaters.

She is the mother of William Burnett, and has three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
