Atlas Lighting and Appliance in Post Falls is closing.

Merchandise at the East Seltice Way store has been marked down, and the doors will shut when the inventory is gone, said Tom Richardson, manager of Atlas Building Center.

Idaho Forest Industries owns both Atlas Building Center and Atlas Lighting and Appliance.

Several weeks ago, IFI announced that it would sell Atlas Building Center to focus more attention on its sawmill operation.

The building center will be sold to Anderson Lumber of Ogden, Utah. But Anderson wasn’t interested in the lighting and appliance store, Richardson said, and IFI didn’t want to keep the appliance store open by itself.

Three employees work at Atlas Lighting and Appliance. They will be transferred to Atlas Building Center.
