Robert B. Tuckman, who covered the Korean and Vietnam wars during a 25-year career with The Associated Press, died in London on Sunday at age 85, his family said Monday. Tuckman spent 2 years in Vietnam, and as the AP’s chief correspondent from 1967-68, he directed coverage of the Tet offensive that shattered official U.S. claims that the war was being won. A Marine captain in the Pacific during World War II, Tuckman also was the AP’s field director during the Korean War from 1951-53.
