Carol Filippini Spokane
Visitation for Carol E. Filippini, 49, will be from noon to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 3 p.m. Monday at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Filippini, who was born in Missoula, died Tuesday.
She graduated from Thompson Falls (Mont.) High School in 1966 and obtained a degree in music education from Eastern Washington University in 1971.
Mrs. Filippini taught elementary music in Newberg, Ore., in 1971 and taught second grade from 1972 to 1977 in Davenport, Wash.
She taught in the Central Valley School District for the past 21 years, most recently teaching first and second grades at Blake Elementary.
Mrs. Filippini was a member of Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, National Geographic Society, Washington Education Association and held the Grand Cross of Color for the order of Rainbow Girls Mount Silcox Chapter No. 111 of Thompson Falls, Mont.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Stephen; two daughters, Carrie and Katie Filippini of Spokane; her parents, Gerald and RuthAnne Greene of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Colleen Weisser of Nine Mile Falls; and a brother, Brian Filippini of Tracy, Calif.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Richard Gerleman Spokane
Memorial service for Richard P. Gerleman, 55, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wellpinit (Wash.) Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Wellpinit Presbyterian Cemetery. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gerleman, who was born in Helena, died May 20.
He was a 30-year resident of Spokane.
Survivors include two daughters, Renae Hawley and Dorothy Gerleman, both of Coulee Dam; and a brother, Tom Gerleman of Las Vegas.
Louisa Glosner Brewster, Wash.
Private burial for Louisa Mary Glosner, 92, will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Glosner, who was born in St. Joseph, Mo., died May 22.
She moved to Spokane in 1928 and then to Brewster 16 years ago.
Mrs. Glosner, who was a homemaker, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1435 and was a Gold Star Mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James.
Survivors include a daughter, Vallejo Halloran of Wellpinit, Wash.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Elena Roseman Spokane
No service will be held for Elena W. Roseman. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Roseman, 87, died May 24. She was 87.
She was born in Spokane and spent most of her life in Portland, where she worked as a secretary for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Roseman moved back to Spokane in 1988.
Her husband, Virgil, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a brother, Arthur Benson; and two sisters, Carol Presta and Fern Dapp.
Beulah Morgan Spokane
Visitation for Beulah K. Morgan, 79, will be from noon to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Morgan, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.
She worked in data processing at Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Morgan was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 2 and the United Steelworkers of American Local 4017.
Her husband, Jack Morgan, died in 1980.
She is survived by an aunt, Iva Littral of Spokane; and cousins, Darlene Young, Jean Greeley and Tina Meyer, all of Spokane, Betty Schumacher of Clarkston, Wash., Maxine Smith of Eagle Creek, Ore., and Marie Ruchert of Lewiston.
Evangeline Papantone Spokane
Funeral for Evangeline Papantone, 97, will be at 10 a.m. today at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Papantone, who was born in Argos, Greece, died Wednesday.
She immigrated to Spokane in 1920 and married James Papantone in 1922.
Mrs. Papantone was a homemaker and was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church.
Her husband died in 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Anne Gilbert of Spokane and Bille Carlson of Kennewick; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Antone Plese Liberty Lake
Vigil service for Antone E. Plese, 80, will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Plese, who died Wednesday, was born in Butte, Mont.
He was a former owner of University City and the Stockyards Inn Restaurant.
Mr. Plese was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Valley Elks, the Italian American Club and a resident of the area for 70 years.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sundena; a daughter, Patricia Hansen of Spokane; a brother, Joseph Plese of Liberty Lake; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Doyle Eckerman Spokane
Memorial service for Doyle F. Eckerman, 64, will be from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. Friday at 8801 E. Main. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Eckerman, who was born in Wall, Texas, died May 23.
He served in the Army from 1956 to 1958 and moved to Spokane in 1962.
Mr. Eckerman worked for Washington Water Power for 30 years. He retired in 1994.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Sue; a daughter, JoBeth Eckerman of Seattle; a sister, Geneva Box of San Diego; and two grandchildren.

Harold ‘Jack’ Pranter II Spokane
Memorial service for Harold J. “Jack” Pranter II, 50, will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Community Bible Chapel. Retz Funeral Home in Helena is in charge of cremation.
Mr. Pranter, who was born in Missouri, died May 22.
He moved to Spokane in 1979 and worked for Keytronic.
Survivors include a son, Kirk Pranter, and a daughter, Christy Croyle, both of Spokane; and a sister, Virginia Mann of Missouri.
Maxine Pinson Spokane
Memorial service for Maxine M. Pinson, 65, will be at 2 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pinson, who died Wednesday, was born in Webbers Falls, Okla.
She worked as a supervisor for Keytronic and retired in 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Yuse of Spokane and Penny Johnson of Seattle; two brothers; three sisters; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
John Ferger Frankston, Texas
Graveside service for John Paul Ferger, 51, will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. A gathering will follow the service at the Post Falls American Legion Hall. Thompson Funeral Home in Frankston is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ferger, who was born in Spokane, died May 24.
He grew up and attended schools in the Greenacres and Post Falls areas, and lived in Spokane and North Idaho for many years.
Mr. Ferger served with the Navy in Vietnam as a PT boat patrolman on the Da Nang River.
After his military service he returned to the area, where he lived until the 1980s.
He worked as a commercial fisherman and bus driver in Alaska, and in the oil fields in Wyoming and Texas.
Mr. Ferger had also been a carnival worker in Texas.
Survivors include two daughters, Carrie Dudley and Stacie Ferger, both of Indiana; three sisters, Rose Breazeal of Rose Lake, Idaho, Helen Smiley of Lewiston and Joyce Easterly of Post Falls; four brothers, Clarence and Tom Roske, both of California, Dale Roske of Woodland, Wash., and Bob Roske of Pasco; and two grandchildren.
Maude ‘Lee’ Gailey Oak Harbor, Wash.
No service will be held for Maude “Lee” Gailey. Burley Funeral Chapel of Oak Harbor is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gailey, who was born in Ignacio, Colo., died Wednesday. She was 91.
She graduated from high school in Denver, and at the age of 19 moved to Seattle and pursued a career as a portrait artist and muralist.
In 1932, she married Verne Gailey in Yakima.
They moved to Spokane in 1942.
Some of her most noteworthy projects as an artist include painting murals on the ceiling of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Tacoma and the Versailles Room of the Spokane City and University Club. Mrs. Gailey also designed and painted sets for the Civic Theater in Spokane.
Her husband died in 1972 and Mrs. Gailey moved to Oak Harbor in 1976.
Survivors include a son, Vince Gailey of Oak Harbor; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Bernie Stewart Hemet, Calif.
Memorial service for Bernie Stewart, 77, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Otis Orchards Community Church. Private burial will follow at Pines Cemetery. Lambert Family Mortuary in San Jacinto, Calif., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stewart, who was born in Provost, Alberta, died May 24.
He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II and moved to Spokane in 1950.
Mr. Stewart worked as a millwright for Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood, for 32 years.
For the past 16 years he and his wife, Doris, have spent their winters in Hemet and their summers in Twin Lakes, Idaho.
He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union and Opportunity Christian Church, where he served as a board member and as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Elaine Adkins of Auburn, Wash., two sons, Wayne Stewart of Otis Orchards and Larry Stewart of San Jose, Calif.; three sisters, Phyllis Squair of Viking, Alberta, Alvena McCleod of Clovis, N.M., and Willa McFadden of Panoka, Alberta; and five grandchildren.
Florence Bumgarner Spokane
Visitation for Florence (Howton) Bumgarner, 88, will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Bumgarner, who was born in Kahlotus, Wash., died Tuesday.
She was a member of Northwood Presbyterian Church, Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Beacon Hill Chapel and Tawanka.
Her husband of 57 years, Merle, died in 1990.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Bumgarner of Tacoma; a daughter, Jeannie Bumgarner-Black of Renton, Wash.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
