Michael Rickert Spokane
Funeral for Michael K. Rickert, 56, is at 10 a.m. today at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
Mr. Rickert, a 20-year Spokane resident, died Wednesday. He was born in Denver.
He worked as a manager for Baker Commodities for 35 years, and was a member of the Spokane Gun Glub and the National Rifle Association.
He married Judy Hanson in 1966.
Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Jamie Lunceford of Spokane; five stepdaughters, Laice and SandiAnn Lunceford, Shannon Penfield and Andrena Middaugh, all of Spokane, and Anita Travis of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Jeanine Loughlin of San Francisco; and 11 grandchildren.
Erva (Hole) O’Malley Spokane
Private graveside service for Erva Elmere (Hole) O’Malley, 84, is today at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. O’Malley, who was born in Cass Lake, Minn., died Thursday.
She was a bank teller with the Spokane and Eastern Bank for several years and later at Seattle First National Bank.
Her husband, Bill, died in 1969.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Faike of Auburn, Calif., and Marion Parnell of Santa Ana, Calif.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
Rex Patterson Spokane
Visitation for Rex C. Patterson, 83, will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Mr. Patterson, who was born in Central City, Neb., died Wednesday.
He graduated from the University of Nebraska and was a member of the Beta Theta Phi fraternity.
Mr. Patterson worked for the Franklin Benton insurance agency in Pasco from 1948 to 1971.
In 1971 he moved to Spokane, where he worked for Pioneer Nation Title Insurance Co. before he retired in 1980.
Mr. Patterson was a member and usher at St. Augustine Catholic Church. He was also a founding organizer of the Tri-City Water Follies hydroplane races.
His wife, Jana, died in 1981 Survivors include six sons, Donald, Larry and Stephen Patterson, all of Spokane, Robert Patterson of Shelton, Wash., and Kent and Ronald Patterson, both of Seattle; a daughter, Elizabeth Gail of Yakima; and 10 grandchildren.
Winfield Mortimer Spokane
Visitation for Winfield S. Mortimer, 91, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Mortimer, who was born in Spokane, died Monday.
In 1936 he graduated from Washington State University with a degree in civil engineering. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.
He served in the Army during World War II in the European theater and in Germany. He retired in 1953 as a lieutenant colonel.
Mr. Mortimer worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for 25 years. He retired in 1968.
His wife, Jean, died in 1996.
Survivors include a son, John Mortimer of Pasadena, Calif; a daughter, Nancy Myers of Spokane; and one grandson.

Emma Kuest Odessa, Wash.
Private service will be held for Emma Kuest at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Strate Funeral Home in Odessa is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Java, S.D., Mrs. Kuest died Wednesday. She was 96.
She had lived in Odessa for 13 years.
Mrs. Kuest was a member of Heritage Church, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and the Royal Neighbors, all in Odessa.
Her husband, Herbert, died in 1969.
Survivors include three daughters, June Weber and Imogene Schafer, both of Odessa, and Darlene Streeter of Ritzville, Wash.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and eight great-greatgrandchildren.

Pearl Town Deer Park
No service is planned for Pearl L. Town, 76, at her request. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash. is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Town, who was born in Newport, died Wednesday.
She retired from the Cusick (Wash.) Post Office and was a member of the Cusick American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Newport Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Freerks and Linda Murray; a son, John Snow; a sister, Myrtle Armstrong; two brothers, Claude and Cecil Jared; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
John Berg Grandview, Wash.
Memorial service for John A. Berg, 97, will be at a later date at Fairmount Memorial Park. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Berg, who was born in Glenwood, Iowa, died Oct. 24.
He married Fannie Jones in 1941.
In the mid 1940s he moved to Spokane. He worked on Grand Coulee Dam and as a cement loader until his retirement from Lehigh Portland Cement Co. in 1966.
His wife died in 1954. He married Lillian Carlyle in 1955 and she died in 1988.
Mr. Berg moved to Sunnyside, Wash., in 1978. He was living at Walnut Grove Nursing Home in Grandview at the time of his death.
Survivors include three stepsons, Gene Carlyle of Prosser, Wash., Jack Carlyle of Federal Way, Wash., and Roger Carlyle of Havre, Mont., a stepdaughter, Madline Pearce of Anchorage, Alaska; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Richard Dogherra Coeur d’Alene
Service for Richard Stanley Dogherra, 64, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery.
Mr. Dogherra, who was born in California, died last Tuesday.
He grew up and graduated from high school in California and worked at the family business before serving with the Navy in Korea.
After his military discharge, Mr. Dogherra returned to California and worked as a mechanic. In 1971 he moved to Coeur d’Alene and opened Performance Wheel and Brake, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mountain View Ward.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Dogherra of California, Ronald Soren of Boise and Leon Soren of Ocean Shores, Wash.; a daughter, Stephani Sertich of Spokane; two brothers, William and Donald Dogherra, and a sister, Joann Berrios, all of California; and five grandchildren.
William Anderson Fairfield
No service will be held for William C. Anderson, 90, at his request. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Anderson, who was born in Vona, Colo., died Wednesday.
He was a farmer in Garfield, Wash.
There are no serving family members.
Lewis Schroder Spokane
No service is planned for Lewis Wilson Schroder, 83, at his request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schroder, who died Monday, was born in Yacolt, Wash.
In 1920 he moved to Spokane and in 1933 graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.
He served in the Air Force and was stationed at a refueling station in Iceland during World War II.
In 1950 he graduated with a chiropractic degree from Palmer College in Iowa and married Nelda Green in 1952.
Mr. Schroder work as a carman on the Western Fruit Express through Burlington Northern Railroad from 1950 until his retirement in 1980.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 51, and the Sinto and Corbin senior centers.
Survivors include a brother, Martin Schroder of Oceanside, Calif.
Elmer Breckenridge Jr. Spokane
Funeral for Elmer “Breck” Breckenridge, Jr., 42, is at 2 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Breckenridge, who died last Saturday, was born in Lubbock, Texas.
He was an 18-year resident of Spokane.
He served as a survival instructor in the Air Force and retired as a technical sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, Dora; a son, E.J. Breckenridge III, of Otis Orchards; two daughters, Breckalene Breckenridge of Otis Orchards and Cresentia Breckenridge of Fort Detrick, Md.; his parents, Elmer and Alene Breckenridge of San Angelo, Texas; and a brother, Royce Breckenridge of Tulsa, Okla.
