ANALYSIS

These two were made for each other. Both are underachievers. Both coaches are in hot water and their players aren’t happy. Both figured to be in the playoffs. Both are 4-4 and a loss probably extinguishes postseason ambitions. Fans in Kansas City overwhelmingly picked Rich Gannon as the starter over Elvis Grbac in a newspaper poll. Grbac, who singled out teammates with harsh comments two weeks ago and apologized the next day, has a Mirer-esque 50.1 rating, but he received a vote of confidence from Schottenheimer last week. Seattle has problems on the offensive line, scoring points, turnovers, stopping the run, etc, etc. So who wins? Seattle. Why? Because somebody has to - and a monsoon isn’t in the Kingdome forecast. The rap on the Seahawks is they can’t beat a good team. True, but the Chiefs aren’t very good right now.
