Gerald Janett Davenport, Wash.
Funeral for Gerald Janett, 86, will be at 1 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Davenport. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Davenport. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Davenport resident, Mr. Janett, died Friday.
He graduated from Davenport High School in 1930 and Washington State University in 1939. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Mr. Janett farmed in the Davenport area.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Davenport Lions Club, Washington Association of Wheat Growers and First Presbyterian Church in Davenport.
His wife, Eleanor, died in 1994
Survivors include a son, Chris Janett of Davenport; two daughters, Julie Keller of Spokane and Nicki Reinbold of Davenport; two stepsons, Dick Sawyer of Spokane and John Sawyer of Davenport; a stepdaughter, Shirley Wahl of Davenport; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mildred McDaniel Spirit Lake, Idaho
Graveside service for Mildred R. McDaniel, 89, will be at 1 p.m. today at Greenwood Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McDaniel, who was born in Coulee City, Wash., died Friday.
In 1929 she graduated from Lewiston Normal School with a teaching certificate. She taught school and in 1958 graduated from Eastern Washington University with a bachelor of arts degree. Mrs. McDaniel continued teaching until 1972 when she retired.
She later moved to Spirit Lake.
She was a member of the National Teachers Association and Lewiston First Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou Allen of Spirit Lake; five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Idaho Cancer Center, or the Senior Citizens of Spirit Lake or Rathdrum, Idaho.
Athos Menetto Spokane
Funeral Mass for Athos Menetto, 87, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Italy, Mr. Menetto died Thursday.
In 1943 he moved to Spokane.
He worked as a mail carrier at Pacific Northwest Bell for 22 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association and the Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; a son, Michael Menetto of Irvine, Calif; a daughter, Gina Ewing of Spokane; a brother, Gino Menetto of Spokane; and four grandchildren.

Armella ‘Millie’ Mehl Spokane
Funeral for Armella “Millie” B. Mehl, 67, is at 1 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
A 45-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Mehl died Thursday. She was born in Faribault, Minn.
She worked in retail sales and was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 2.
Survivors include her husband, Fred; two sons, James Monroe of Spokane and Gary Monroe of Ellensburg; two daughters, Connie Knapper of Spokane and Jeannine Jasper of Mead; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Frank Reno Spokane
Funeral Mass for Frank Reno, 75, will be at 2 p.m. today at Mary Queen Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Reno, who died Saturday, was a lifetime Spokane resident.
He worked for Max J. Kuney Construction Co. for 35 years and was a member of Mary Queen Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Violet; a son, Joseph Reno, and two daughters, Cathy Bowerman and Connie Johnson, all of Spokane; a sister, Connie Barr of Spokane; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Ruth Bentley Spokane
Funeral Mass for Ruth E. Bentley, 79, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Bentley, died Saturday.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Harvey, died in 1992.
Survivors include a son, Danny Gordon, and a daughter, Ruth Dearing, both of Spokane; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lucille (Larsen) Pettersen Spokane
Funeral for Lucille N. (Larsen) Pettersen, 92, is planned for 2 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Pettersen, who died Saturday, was born in Ceres, Calif.
In 1928 she married Paul Petersen. He died in 1991.
She worked as a welder in the Portland shipyards before moving to Spokane in 1945. She worked on the assembly line for Ainsley Box Factory in Spokane and retired in 1968.
She was a member of Linwood Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Audrey Novak of Coeur d’Alene and Lois Hood of Springdale, Wash.; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Roy Dvorak Garfield, Wash.
Memorial service for Roy E. Dvorak, 58, is at 1 p.m. today, at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Garfield Cemetery.
Mr. Dvorak, who was born in Spokane, died Friday.
He graduated from Garfield High School in 1958 and married Sue McCown in 1959.
Mr. Dvorak worked for the Garfield Union Warehouse and Digger Dan laying tile lines. In 1965 he started working for United Paving Co. in Pullman. He became branch manager in 1978 and held the position of manager when he retired in 1988.
He was a member of the Garfield Fire Department and the Operating Engineers Union Local 370 of Spokane.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jamie Dvorak, and a daughter, Kelly Fender, both of Garfield; two brothers, Jim Dvorak of Spokane and Dennis Dvorak of Wapato, Wash.; two sisters, Darlene Hester of Spokane and Diane Carscallen of Potlatch, Idaho; and four grandchildren.

Doris (Hunt) Grillo Spokane
Visitation for Doris V. “Dot” (Hunt) Grillo, 83, will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Grillo, who was born in Malvern, Ark., died Saturday.
She was a member of Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church and had served as president of the Women’s Auxiliary of Carpenters Union Local 98.
Mrs. Grillo is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joe; a son, Ken Grillo of Portland; a daughter, Marlene Gerhardstein of Kennewick; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Alexander Amberson Spokane
Memorial service for Alexander F. Amberson, 84, was Monday at Northwest Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.
A 15-year Spokane resident, Mr. Amberson died Friday. He was born in Sunderland, Mass.
He attended a two-year bakery school in Arkansas and operated a bakery for 10 years in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Mr. Amberson served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II in the European Theater.
He attended Heald College in San Francisco and received a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for the Navy at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco for several years before retiring in 1975.
In 1983 he moved to Spokane from San Francisco. He was a member and elder of the Northwest Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Pearline; a daughter, Gail Metoyer of Spokane; four sons, Stephan Amberson of Redding, Calif., David Amberson of Little Elm, Texas, Alan Amberson of Nevada City, Calif., and Peter Amberson of Oroville, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Hazel Nester Veradale
Funeral for Hazel A. Nester, 82, is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
A 52-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Nester died Saturday. She was born in North Dakota.
She graduated from North Dakota Teachers College and taught for many years.
She and her husband operated Al’s Gems and Hobbies in Spokane.
Her husband, Albert, died in 1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Chapman of Greenacres; a brother Dale Nelson of Spokane; and a sister, Clara Ott of Dickinson, N.D.

John Coughlin Spokane
Funeral Mass for John Coughlin, 85, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Coughlin, who was born in Duluth, Minn., died Thursday.
In 1941 he married Florence Burger. She died in 1982.
He worked for the Great Northern and Burlington Northern railroads as a conductor.
Mr. Coughlin served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Hillyard Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1474, American Legion Post 51 in Ritzville, Wash., and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 45.
He was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 2, Moose Lodge No. 161, Day Out for the Blind and the Spokane County Association for the Blind.
Survivors include his wife Lillian; five daughters, Barbara Coughlin of Spokane, Ann Laubscher of Reno, Nev., Patricia Thielman of Richland; Margaret Broderhausen of Renton, Wash., and Jean Richtsmeier of Gallup, N.M.; and two stepdaughters, Helen Evans and Pat Reade; and 12 grandchildren.
Hannah Cunningham Spokane
Visitation for Hannah L. Cunningham, 88, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today. Funeral is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A 74-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Cunningham, died Saturday. She was born in Kansas City, Kan.
In 1924 she moved to Spokane from Kansas City and worked as a licensed practical nurse in nursing homes before retiring in 1968.
Her husband, Charles, died in 1977.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Maggard of Veradale and Shirley Dauenhauerof Spokane; six sons, Orville Cunningham of Veradale, Steven Cunningham of Medical Lake, Robert Cunningham of Yakima, and Glenn, Ted, and Michael Cunningham, all of Spokane; 36 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Maria McInnis Spokane
Funeral for Maria E. McInnis, 79, was Monday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. McInnis died Friday.
She worked sterilizing equipment for surgical procedures for several years.
Mrs. McInnis was a member of the women’s auxiliaries of the Valley Eagles and the Moose lodges.
Survivors include two sons, Richard McInnis of Spokane and Darrell McInnis of Gresham, Ore.; two daughters, Dawn Felix of Spokane and Barbara Epp of Bellmore, N.Y.; two brothers, four sisters, 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mary Burge Davenport, Wash.
Visitation for Mary H. Burge, 88, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport. Memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Davenport Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Burge, who was born in Mohler, Wash., died Friday.
In 1930 she married Clyde Burge. He died in 1985.
Mrs. Burge was a homemaker and attended Davenport Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include a son, Fred Burge of Spokane; two daughters, Linda Burge of Spokane and Elana Mann of Davenport; a sister, Grace Aldridge of Mohler; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
James Croft Coeur d’Alene
Family memorial service for James Frederick Croft, 89, will be held at a later date in Hawaii. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Croft, who was born in Chicago, died Thursday.
He grew up in La Grange, Ill., and attended the University of Illinois. Mr. Croft worked as an insurance salesman and manager and lived in California, Hawaii and Chewelah before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1987.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary; two daughters, Sally Noxon of California and Mary Addis of Coeur d’Alene; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Lola Harwood Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Lola Mae Harwood, 70, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Mrs. Harwood, who was born in Bossburg, Wash., died Friday.
She grew up in Eastern Washington and moved to North Idaho in 1955. She lived in various cities before moving to Coeur d’Alene.
Her husband, Joseph, died in 1964.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Gay of Tacoma, Jerome Harwood of Spokane and John Gay of Georgia; four daughters, Joy Wood of Newport, Wash., Joan Reed of Coeur d’Alene, Karen Johansen of Arizona and Mary Gibson of Pennsylvania; six stepchildren, Frances, Joyce, Joe, Jimmy, Johny and Jeffery; a brother, Walter Sexton of Montana; three sisters, Ellen Pearson of Athol, Idaho, Hazel Shelley of Newman Lake, Wash., and Lucille Shimmin of Nevada; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
