Daimlerchrysler Gets 12 Board Members
DaimlerChrysler AG named the 12 shareholder members of its supervisory board Tuesday as it completed the transaction that merged Chrysler Corp. with Daimler-Benz AG of Germany.
The shareholder representatives on what will be the world’s fifth-largest auto company include Robert E. Allen, former chairman of AT&T, and Hilmar Kopper, chairman of Deutsche Bank.
The company plans to organize its board under German law. It expects to reduce the number of shareholder representatives by two and add 10 employee representatives for a total 20-member board.
Trading of DaimlerChrysler stock is scheduled to begin Tuesday under the symbol DCX on the New York and Frankfurt stock exchanges. Chrysler shares were to cease trading on the New York Stock Exchange at the close of business Thursday.
Daimler-Benz will remain listed as a separate company in Germany until lawsuits challenging the stock swap are resolved.
