Hockey Meltdown

The Buffalo Sabres’ Rob Ray, left, tries to land another punch on the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Tie Domi in hockey action last month. It wasn’t long ago that the National Hockey League was filled with players who punched their way into the league. Not anymore. “Nowadays, you just worry about the next game,” says Ray, one of the few remaining goons in the NHL, ‘but back then sometimes you went out and even tried to maim one of them so they couldn’t be able to play the next night.”
