Panel Concludes Steelmakers At Risk

The U.S. steel industry has produced evidence that it could be hurt by cheap imports sent to the American market by steelmakers in Japan, Russia and Brazil, a federal commission said Friday.

In a 6-0 vote, the U.S. International Trade Commission approved a preliminary staff recommendation in favor of the U.S. steel industry, which complained that jobs and profits are threatened by cheap imports.
