The owner of an Otis Orchards apple-packing plant is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for an arson fire Wednesday.

The $5,000 is in addition to a reward of up to $7,200 offered by the Spokane Valley Fire Department.

Wednesday’s fire began about 10 p.m. at the plant along Gilbert Road east of Campbell and Trent.

The owner and his tenant are not considered suspects in the arson, said Valley Fire Marshall Paul Chase.

Anyone with information should call the arson hotline at (800) 55-ARSON.
