Contestant Eva Horvath of Hungary poses on a beach in Seychelles on Sunday in advance of Thursday night’s Miss World pageant. At age 48, the Miss World beauty pageant is undergoing a face lift. Gone are the high heels and swimsuit parades in front of the judges. Now, the 86 contestants are participating in environmentally friendly activities planting trees and taking part in a ceremonial return of hawksbill turtle shells to the sea. However, most of the traditional elements of this showcase for beauty remain intact.
