Some Sta Routes Changing
Nearly three months after the biggest changes in two decades, a handful of Spokane Transit Authority bus routes and schedules are being tweaked.
Some routes changed slightly last weekend and more will change this Sunday, Allen Schweim, the authority’s executive director, said Wednesday.
Transit authority officials had agreed to review September’s sweeping route overhaul for possible major alterations in January, Schweim said.
During the interim, changes could be made only for three reasons: safety, overloading or problems with keeping buses on schedule, Schweim said. The current changes fall under those categories.
Last weekend, the No. 21 Broadway, No. 26 Hamilton, No. 46 Altamont and No. 71, 72 and 73 Valley Express routes all changed slightly.
On Sunday, city loop route No. 22, 33 and 44, and north loop route No. 20, 27 and 30 will be altered. The No. 25 Division and No. 90 Sprague also will change.
Riders can find out details about the changes by picking up revised schedules and rider alerts or calling 328-RIDE.
Beginning next week, riders can check out the changes on the transit authority’s Web site: www.spokanetransit.com.
