Obituaries

Laurence Richert Spokane

Memorial service for Laurence Richert, 103, will be at 3 p.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Richert, who was born in Little Falls, Minn., died Wednesday. He was a 75-year Spokane resident.

He served with the Air Force and Air Reserve Forces during World War I and the coast guard and navy during World War II.

Mr. Richert owned and operated Richert Sales and Service in Spokane.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Oriental Shrine, the El Katif Shrine, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and was a charter member and past commodore of the State Line Outboard Racing Association.

His wife, Vera, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Pierce of Spokane; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Unit at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Beulah Douglas Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Beulah M. Douglas, 97, will be held at a later date. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Douglas, who was born in Juliaetta, Idaho, died Wednesday.

She moved from Dayton, Wash., to Coeur d’Alene in 1949 and to Spokane in 1960.

Mrs. Douglas returned to Coeur d’Alene in 1980. She was a homemaker.

She was formerly active with the Coeur d’Alene Welcome Wagon, and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.

Her husband of 64 years, Charles, died in 1990.

Survivors include a son, Charles Douglas of Coeur d’Alene.

Dallas Bottles Spokane

Graveside service for Dallas Edward Bottles, 74, will be at 1 p.m. today at the Waitsburg (Wash.) Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 21-year Spokane resident, Mr. Bottles, died Monday. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa.

In 1942 he graduated from Allegheny High School in Pittsburgh.

Mr. Bottles served with the Marine Corps during World War II.

In 1948 he moved to Alaska where he worked on gold dredges for a short time. He joined the Teamsters Union and the Alaska Operating Engineers Union where he drove trucks and operated heavy equipment. He retired in 1977 and moved to Spokane.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Joanne; two sons, Hollis and Rocky Bottles; a daughter, Roxie Bottles; a brother, Don Bottles; and a granddaughter.

Vera Sebring Spokane

Visitation for Vera L. Sebring, 85, will be from noon to 6 p.m. today and Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Sebring, died Wednesday.

She married Dan Sebring in 1931.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Spokane Fire Department Auxiliary.

Her husband died in 1977.

Survivors include a son, Richard Sebring of Diamond Lake, Wash.; two daughters, Loretta Rhodes of Spokane and Marilyn Blincow of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; a brother, Jack Frost of Spokane; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Hospital Development Fund.
