James Maxfield Jr. Spokane
Funeral for James Dorsey Maxfield, Jr., 64, will be at 2 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Maxfield, who was born in Minneapolis, died Thursday.
He moved to Spokane in 1944 and served in the Navy from 1951 to 1964 in both the Korean and Vietnam wars.
In 1964 he married Evelyn McAllister and later worked for Smith Furniture Store and Air Touch Cellular.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Connie Kathman and Dorsey Ausband, both of Spokane and Linda Carman of Kalispel, Mont.; his mother, Alyce Beaman of Spokane; three sisters, Jode Warnock and Mary Maxfield, both of Spokane and Ethel Wiggins of Kent, Wash.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
Margaret Cobane Spokane
Funeral for Margaret E. Cobane, 80, will be at 10 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Cobane, who was born in Yakima, died Friday.
She worked as a clerk at Westminster Bakery for 15 years and worked for King Size Photo and Powers Candy.
Mrs. Cobane was a member of the Eagles Lodge No. 2 Auxiliary and was a 36-year Spokane resident.
Her husband Jess died in 1988.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Gellner of Spokane; a son, Donald Cobane of Everett; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
David Gilman Coeur d’Alene
No service will be held for David William Gilman, 49. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gilman, who was born in Wardner, Idaho, died Thursday.
He grew up in Kellogg and served with the Army in Vietnam, Korea and Okinawa, returning to the Silver Valley after eight years of service.
Mr. Gilman then worked for the city of Smelterville for three years and later moved to Coeur d’Alene and worked for the Idaho Transportation Department.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Elizabeth; two sons, William Gilman II of Bovill, Idaho, and Michael Gillman of Coeur d’Alene; his mother, Norma Byrnes of Oregon; a brother, Michael Gilman of Spokane; a sister, Dale Haak of Post Falls; and three grandchildren.
Bonita Miller Spokane
Memorial service for Bonita Rae Miller, 71, is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at Riplinger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Miller, who was born in Chelan, Wash., died Thursday.
She graduated from Wenatchee High School and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Miller had been a resident of Spokane for more than 40 years.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Charles; two daughters, Mary Jo Miller of Spokane and Heather Miller of Seattle; and a sister, Elva White of Seattle.
