John Lindgren Post Falls
Graveside service for John Rudolph Lindgren, 79, will be today at 11 a.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lindgren, who was born in Duluth, Minn., died Thursday.
He grew up in Coeur d’Alene and graduated from high school there in 1936. He served with the Air Force as a pilot during World War II and the Korean War, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 1965.
Mr. Lindgren returned to Coeur d’Alene and worked for Washington Water Power, retiring in 1982.
He moved to Post Falls in 1988.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Lindgren of Dalton Gardens, Idaho.

Laura Smith Rathdrum, Idaho
Graveside service for Laura L. Smith, 90, will be today at 11 a.m. at Pinegrove Cemetery in Rathdrum. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Smith, who was born in Idaho, died Saturday.
She was a longtime Rathdrum resident and a homemaker.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lakeland First Ward.
Her husband, Alva, died Sept. 29.
Survivors include a son, Leslie Sills of Nampa, Idaho; a stepdaughter, Hazel “Peggy” Harris of Rathdrum; a sister, Norlynn Backer of California; five stepgrandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren and numerous stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Ray Baumgardner Newport, Wash.
Memorial service for Ray Baumgardner, 70, was Monday at the American Lutheran Church in Newport.
Mr. Baumgardner, who was born in Milton-Freewater, Ore., died Friday.
In 1950 he married Mary Payne in Newport.
He served in the Army from 1950 to 1952.
Mr. Baumgardner worked for the Pend Oreille County Road District for 37 years.
He was a volunteer firefighter in Newport and was a member of the rodeo association and the Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Anita Elmer and Nicole Burton, both of Blanchard, Idaho; two sisters, Kate Stansbury and Darlene Jones, both of Clayton, Wash.; a brother, Otto Baumgardner of Newport; a stepbrother and two stepsisters; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Scott Justus Sagle, Idaho
Service for Scott Michael Justus, 14, will be today at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Westmond, Idaho. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.
Scott, who was born in Kennewick, died Friday.
He lived in Spokane and attended schools there until moving to Sagle at the age of 12 and attending school in Sandpoint.
Survivors include his parents, William and Nanette Justus of Sagle; three brothers, David Justus of Spokane, Jared Justus of Oregon, and Ryan Justus of Sagle; two sisters, Michelle Copher of Hawaii and Karen Justus of Sagle; his grandparents, Marvin and Maxine Christensen of Utah, and William and Beatrice Justus of Arizona.
Wilma Ferrell Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Wilma Ellen (Weyer) Ferrell, 71, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Private inurnment will be in Trentwood, Wash.
Mrs. Ferrell, who was born in Saskatchewan, died Saturday.
She moved to the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area in 1936 and worked as a licensed hair dresser in Spokane for several years and then in the accounting department of Deaconess Hospital before retiring.
Mrs. Ferrell was a mother and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Donald Swank in 1953, and Jack Ferrell in 1996.
Survivors include two sons, Don Swank of Hauser Lake, Idaho, and Bill Swank of Spokane; three daughters, Janie Burke of Lewiston, Wilma Gressel of California and Maryann Deering of Spokane; a sister, Margaret Batholomew of Spokane; four brothers, Tom Weyer of Green Bluff, William Weyer of Camano Island, Wash., Joseph Weyer of Spokane and Pat Weyer of Oregon; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Eleanor Warren Spokane
Graveside service for Eleanor L. Warren, 84, was Monday at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Warren, who was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, died Thursday.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Mrs. Warren was a resident of Spokane for 28 years.
Her husband, Paul, died in 1996.
Survivors include a brother, John Miller, and a sister, Bernadette Riggs, both of Spokane.
Laura Mellick Spokane
Funeral for Laura Frasier Mellick, 97, is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant View Community Church in Post Falls. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mellick, who was born in Pleasant View, Idaho, died Saturday.
She and her husband, Ben Mellick, farmed in East Farms, Trentwood, Otis Orchards, Greenacres, Moran Prairie and Worley, Idaho, for many years.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Gruennert of Spokane; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James Isbister, M.D. Spokane
Memorial service for Dr. James M. Isbister, 76, is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South.
Dr. Isbister, who was born in Onoway, Mich., died Saturday.
He graduated from Onoway High School in 1939 and from Michigan State University in 1944 with a bachelor’s degree in science. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit in 1947.
He practiced general medicine, pediatrics, rehabilitation and physical medicine and substance abuse treatment in California, Montana and Washington, most recently as assistant medical director and medical director at Mountain View and Raleigh Hills treatment centers. He retired in 1990.
Dr. Isbister was a consultant to the medical advisory board for the Los Angeles Olympic Committee and was a member of the American Medical Association, and the Lions Club and Masonic Lodge in Montana.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary; three daughters, Marti McGurk of Honolulu, Debby Morgan of Yakima and Kim Ferraro of Los Angeles; two sons, Jeff Isbister of San Antonio, Texas, and Kevin Isbister of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

Jerome Harrett Spokane
Vigil service for Jerome H. Harrett, 68, will be at 7 p.m. today at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the cathedral. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harrett, a longtime Spokane resident, died Sept. 29.
He was born in Alexandria, Mo.
He worked as a painter for many years and was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Patricia; two sons, Michael Harrett of Houston and Steven Harrett of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; and a brother, Paul Harrett of Quincy, Ill.
Astor Proctor Palouse, Wash.
Funeral for Astor E. Proctor, 84, will be at 2 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse.
Born in Palouse, Mrs. Proctor died Friday.
She worked for Quality Cleaners in Palouse for several years and also worked as a custodian for the Bell Telephone Co. and R.A. Hanson Co. in Palouse, before retiring in 1974.
She married George Proctor in 1930. He died in 1964.
Mrs. Proctor is survived by three sons, Ted Proctor of Centralia, Wash., Randy Proctor of Palouse and Donald Proctor of Walla Walla; two daughters, Virginia Main of Palouse and Joanne Spangler of Osburn, Idaho; a half-brother, Jack Howard of Spokane; a half-sister, Florence Gehlken of San Gabriel, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Iola Inman Colville, Wash.
Funeral for Iola Inman, 75, will be at 2 p.m. today at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Colville.
Mrs. Inman, who was born in Parsons, Tenn., died Friday.
She graduated from high school in Parsons and in 1945 married Robert Inman in Corinth, Miss.
They later moved to Colville, where she worked for Washington Water Power for a number of years.
Mrs. Inman was later employed by the Stevens County Auditor’s Office for more than 29 years. She retired in 1982.
Survivors include a son, Larry Inman of Colville; and two grandchildren.

Frank Julian Spokane
Funeral for Frank Julian, 80, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park.
Mr. Julian, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Thursday.
He worked for the railroad for 40 years and was a member of the Moose Lodge.
His wife, Ruth, died in 1986.
Survivors include a son, Frank Julian of Spokane; a daughter, Carol Cravens of Elk; a brother, Victor Julian of Spokane; four sisters, Jenny Contabile, Theresa Gavette, Louise Martin and Josephine Rask, all of Spokane; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
