Spotlight: Running

Limber up those legs and break out those Halloween costumes. The fifth annual Space Race family-oriented fun run will combine a costume contest with a 3- and 5-mile run/walk Oct. 31 at Spokane Community College.

Registration is at 8 a.m. with the race beginning at 10. Cost is $17 to receive a long-sleeved shirt with multi colors and glow-in-the-dark ink, or $7 without a shirt. Proceeds benefit the YWCA Transitional School.

There’ll be a special coloring contest for youngsters 11 and younger, as well as tricks and treats. Adults will compete for best running costume.
