Jay Collett Spokane
Visitation for Jay A. Collett, 81, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Graveside service is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at Elk (Wash.) Cemetery No. 1.
Mr. Collett, who was born in Vernal, Utah, died Wednesday.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and worked in the maintenance department for Riverside School District.
Mr. Collett was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had been a resident of Spokane since 1952.
Survivors include his wife, Vineta; a daughter, Sharon Dale of Chattaroy; two sisters, Opal Hatt of Riverton, Utah, and Luella Smith of Kearns, Utah; three brothers, Leon Collett of Pleasanton, Calif., Edward Collett of Murray, Utah, and Milo Collett of Sandy, Utah.
Donald Smith Cheney
Funeral for Donald E. Smith, 71, will be at 2 p.m. today at Cheney Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Born in Cheney, Mr. Smith died Tuesday.
He graduated from Cheney High School and served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Smith was an automobile repairman for 40 years and served as assistant fire chief for the Cheney Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a volunteer with County Fire District 3 for 25 years.
He was a member of American Legion Post 72 in Cheney.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine; two sons, David and Douglas Smith, both of Cheney; two daughters, Dawn Foglesong of Yakima and Kristy Baker of LaGrande, Ore.; and seven grandchildren.
Robert Gessner Spokane
Memorial service for Robert R. Gessner, 81, will be at 1 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Gessner, who was born in Vandalia, Mont., died Wednesday.
He served in the Army during World War II and worked as a budget director and a civil engineering funds manager.
Mr. Gessner was a member of St. Charles Parish and Eagles Lodge No. 2, and had been a resident of Spokane for 52 years.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie; and a daughter, Louise Gessner of Spokane.
Mary Riley Spokane
Vigil for Mary E. Riley, 91, will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Riley, who was born in Cunningham, Wash., died Wednesday.
She worked as a sales clerk for The Crescent department store for 10 years and was a volunteer for The American Red Cross and Cheney Cowles Museum.
Mrs. Riley was also co-owner with her husband, Terrence Riley Sr., of the Riley Candy Co., which was later purchased by Spokandy.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes and the Altar Society, and a member of the Ding-a-ling ceramics group.
Her husband died in 1965.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas and Terrence Riley Jr., both of Spokane, and Peter Riley of Bellevue, Wash.; a daughter, Dorothy Riley-Eckert of Spokane; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes Building Fund.
James Rosenbeck Colfax, Wash.
Visitation for James Rosenbeck, 52, will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and 8 to 11 a.m. Monday at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax. Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. at the Jennings Elementary School gymnasium in Colfax. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe, Wash.
Mr. Rosenbeck, who was born in Missoula, Mont., died Thursday.
He graduated from Superior (Mont.) High School in 1964 and received his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Montana University in Billings, Mont., and his master’s degree from Montana State University in Bozeman.
Mr. Rosenbeck taught school in Billings for nine years before moving to St. Maries, Idaho, where he was a principal until he moved to Colfax in 1979. There, he served as principal of Jennings Elementary School for the past 19 years.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he had served as president of the Colfax Ward for seven and a half years.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sarah Rosenbeck of Colfax and Kelly Richardson of Portland; and two sons, Jim and Steven Rosenbeck, both of Colfax.

Harold Widman Spokane
Memorial service for Harold L. Widman, 78, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Riplinger Funeral Home.
Mr. Widman, who was born in Rosalia, Wash., died Wednesday.
He served in the Navy during World War II and worked as a mechanic for Spokane County for many years, retiring in the mid 1980s.
Mr. Widman was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include a daughter, Nikki Bavuso of Spokane; a son, Rodney Widman of Quilcene, Wash., two brothers, Ellwood Widman of Moscow, Idaho, and Marvin Widman of Rosalia; and five grandchildren.

Alberta Seebold Post Falls
Graveside service for Alberta Joyce Seebold, 67, will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Seebold, who was born in Ellensburg, Wash., died Wednesday.
She grew up in California and briefly lived in Weippe, Idaho, before settling in the Post Falls area in 1955.
Miss Seebold worked for Clare Pendar/General Instruments in Post Falls until retiring in 1975 due to illness.
She had been confined to her home since 1976 and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Post Falls by proxy.
Survivors include many family and friends.
Patricia Hetland Spokane
Visitation for Patricia A. Hetland, 67, will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
A longtime Spokane resident, Mrs. Hetland died Wednesday. She was born in Spokane.
She worked as an accounts payable clerk for a soft drink company in Spokane and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Alpha Sigma Chapter.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Alan; two sons, Mark Meadows and David Hetland; two daughters, Christine Kennedy and Lisa Van Hagen; a stepson, Gerald Hetland; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Edward Hall Corona, Calif.
Memorial service for Edward A. Hall, 77, will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 21 at Opportunity Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be at Pines Cemetery. Thomas Miller Funeral Home in Corona is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hall, a former longtime Spokane resident, died Sunday. He was born in Tacoma.
He graduated from West Valley High School and received a business degree from Whitworth College.
Mr. Hall served as a fighter pilot in World War II.
He worked for Kaiser Trentwood for 27 years and also owned many businesses in Spokane, including an A&W restaurant and the Early Dawn dairy farm in the Spokane Valley.
Mr. Hall was voted Boss of the Year by the Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce and was active in the Spokane Valley Young Republicans. He was also a gun safety teacher at the Spokane Valley Gun Club.
He was a 35-year member of the Spokane Valley Elks Lodge, where he volunteered as club manager. He was active on the Big Game Council, and was a member of Whitworth Presbyterian Church and the Civilian Air Patrol.
Mr. Hall moved to California one year ago.
His first wife, of 25 years, Betty Grinell, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Darlene; six sons, Delbert, Richard and Steven Hall, all of Spokane, Gregory Hall of Bozeman, Mont., Douglas Hall of Hana, Hawaii, and Bruce Hall of Tacoma; two daughters, Lynn HallBlitcher of San Francisco and Norma Akright of Littleton, Colo.; three stepsons, Scott and Tod McCartney of Spokane, and Chris McCartney of Kettle Falls, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Heather Reuter of Long Beach, Calif., and Aimee Kelly of Tustin, Calif.; a sister, Phyllis Gunn of Spokane; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and six stepgrandchildren.
Ruby Anderson Spokane
Private inurnment for Ruby Anderson, 85, will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Anderson, who was born in Troy, Idaho, died Wednesday.
She had been a resident of Five Mile prairie for 54 years.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Gary Roadruck, and a daughter, Linda Benzo, both of Spokane; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
