Norma Graham Coeur d’Alene
Service for Norma I. Graham, 75, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Shoshone Memorial Gardens in Kingston, Idaho.
Mrs. Graham, who was born in North Dakota, died Wednesday.
She grew up and graduated from high school in North Dakota and then moved to Wallace. She worked for Providence Hospital until the Sisters at Providence sent her to Colville, Wash., for additional training to become a licensed practical nurse.
Mrs. Graham returned to Wallace and worked at Providence Hospital until it closed. She also worked at Wallace and East Shoshone hospitals.
She moved to Hayden in 1986 and then to Oakcrest Mobile Home Park in Coeur d’Alene in 1993.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Norman; two sons, Terry Graham of Nevada and Thomas Graham of Montana; a daughter, Judy Delany of Tacoma; a brother, Earl Jacobsen of Woodland Park, Idaho; two sisters, Edna Carpenter of Minnesota and Beverly Pegg of North Dakota; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Charles ‘Wendell’ Blain Spokane
Visitation for Charles “Wendell” Blain, 87, will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Sunday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Blain, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Wednesday.
He attended Kinman Business College for two years and in 1937 married Elvira Strand.
Mr. Blain worked as a laborer in Grand Coulee during the building of the dam and later worked as a salesman for Brooks and Emry’s Men’s Clothiers and John’s Hat Shop for many years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Blain, and a daughter, Janet Scott, both of Spokane; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Theodore ‘Brick’ Brenchley Port Angeles, Wash.
Memorial service for Theodore “Brick” Brenchley, 90, was held Oct. 17 at the First United Methodist and Congregational Church in Port Angeles. Inurnment was in Opportunity.
Born in Wilbur, Wash., Mr. Brenchley died Oct. 4.
He graduated from Wilbur High School and in 1934 married Pearl Buzzelle.
Mr. Brenchley was the manager at the Potlatch Lumber Yard in the Spokane Valley for many years.
He moved to Port Angeles 36 years ago and began working for Nailor Lumber and Building Materials.
Mr. Brenchley was a charter member and past president of the Spokane Valley Lions Club and a member of the Port Angeles Lions Club. He was also a member of First United Methodist and Congregational Church in Port Angeles.
His wife died in 1992.
Survivors include a son, David Brenchley of Kennewick; a brother, Walter Brenchley of Grand Coulee; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Louise Colwell Hope, Idaho
Memorial service for Louise Colwell, 80, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Colwell, who was born in Hope, died Thursday.
She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1936 and then attended Kinman Business College in Spokane.
Mrs. Colwell worked as a secretary for the Sandpoint News Bulletin, the Forest Service in Bonners Ferry and McFarland Pole Co. in Sandpoint.
In the city of Hope she had served as a City Council member, city clerk and mayor and was an accomplished pianist, playing for the United Methodist Church in Sandpoint and Clark Fork Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Colwell was a former Girl Scout leader.
Her husband, Bill, died in 1971.
Survivors include four brothers, Maurice, Harry and Robert Dreisbach, all of Sandpoint, and Philip Dreisbach of Coeur d’Alene.

Edra Mayo Sandpoint
Private memorial service for Edra L. Mayo, 93, will be held at a later date next summer.
Mrs. Mayo, who was born in Franklin, Vt., died last Saturday.
She had worked as a registered nurse in hospitals in Vermont and New Hampshire before moving to Sandpoint in 1948.
Mrs. Mayo lived in Sandpoint and worked in the nursing profession and later went into hospital administration, working in Sandpoint and Grangeville, Idaho, Dayton, Wash., and Spokane. She later retired and moved to Bottle Bay on Lake Pend Oreille.
Mrs. Mayo was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan Coleman of Texas, Ruby Mayo of California and Olive Nelson of Sandpoint; a sister, Enid Brown of Florida; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Gladys Carpenter Spokane
Visitation for Gladys L. Carpenter, 75, will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Sunday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A 58-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Carpenter died Tuesday. She was born in Aneta, N.D.
She married Jim Carpenter in 1945 and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Carpenter was a member of the Women of the Moose.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Lonnie and David Carpenter, both of Spokane, and Ed Carpenter of Lansing, Mich.; a brother, Art Halverson of Spokane; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Etsuko Emata Spokane
Memorial service for Etsuko Emata, 67, will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South.
Mrs. Emata, who was born in Tokyo, died Sunday.
She moved to Spokane in 1954 after her marriage to Harry Emata, and worked at The Bon Marche as a sales clerk.
Mrs. Emata then worked as a checker and a specialty foods purchaser for Rosauers at Eighth and Perry, which later became Excell Foods. She retired in 1993.
Her husband died in 1992.
Survivors include two sons, Pierce Emata of Indianapolis and Paul Emata of Munich, Germany; a brother, Seiji Haneda of Hakodate, Japan; and six grandchildren.
May Lockyer Coeur d’Alene
Service for May Elizabeth Lockyer, 89, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Mrs. Lockyer, who was born in Paw Paw, Mich., died Sunday.
She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1936 and then settled on a small ranch near Sandpoint.
Mrs. Lockyer owned a tavern in Granite, Idaho, south of Sandpoint, before the business was destroyed by fire. She later moved to Coeur d’Alene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert.
Mrs. lockyer was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
She has no survivors.

Elizabeth Hays Spokane
Visitation for Elizabeth Hays, a lifetime Spokane resident, will be from noon to 6 p.m. today and Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hays, 91, died Thursday.
She worked as a telephone operator for Pacific Northwest Bell and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was an international union representative for the Communications Workers of America.
Her husband, Eugene, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Gayle Hays of Spokane and Eugene Hays of Kennewick; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Gwendolyn O’Keefe Spokane
Visitation for Gwendolyn M. O’Keefe, 80, will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Sunday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. O’Keefe, who was born in Thompson, Pa., died Thursday.
She worked as a registered nurse for 30 years and had been a resident of Spokane for 50 years.
Survivors include her husband, Francis; a son, Dennis O’Keefe of Spokane; two daughters, Judy Kent of Edmonds, Wash., and Maureen Shiflett of Wenatchee; two brothers, Joseph Allard of Endwell, N.Y., and Lee Allard of Westfield, N.J.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Gottfried Ehrenberg Spokane
Funeral service for Gottfried S. Ehrenberg, a 52-year resident of Spokane, is pending. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ehrenberg, who was born in Altenburg, Germany, died Wednesday. He was 88.
He came to the United States in 1939 and became a ski instructor at one of the first Sun Valley, Idaho, ski schools.
Mr. Ehrenberg was an avid mountain climber and made several first ascents in Alaska’s Brooks Range in the early 1950s.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty; three sons, Thomas Ehrenberg of Spokane, Peter Ehrenberg of Sacramento, Calif., and Christopher Ehrenberg of San Leandro, Calif.; a daughter, Heidi Ehrenberg of Seattle; two sisters, Eva Kollibay and Lilo Schmidt-Ehrenberg, both of Zurich, Switzerland; and four grandchildren.

Joe Kiefel Spokane
Funeral Mass for Joe Kiefel, a 63-year Spokane resident, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Richardton, N.D., Mr. Kiefel died Thursday. He was 92.
He was worked in construction and was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish, the Morgan Acres Volunteer Fire Department and the Homebuilders Association.
Mr. Kiefel was also a member of the Eagles and Moose lodges.
His first wife, Frances Renner Kiefel, died in 1976, and his second wife, Elizabeth Hoernar Keifel, died in 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Alvin and Raymond Kiefel, both of Spokane; four daughters, Delores Nelson, Helen Bechtold and Angie Slentz, all of Spokane, and Elsie Moore of Loon Lake, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Marlene Frampton of Spokane; three sisters, Katherine White of Spokane, Margaret Robertson of Kissimmee, Fla., and Magdaline Kiefel of Lacey, Wash.; a stepbrother, Barney Streifle of Spokane; two stepsisters, Marion Hibbs of Spokane and Regina Swanson of Florida; 34 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Donald Breeden Spokane
No service will be held for Donald E. Breeden, 80, at his request. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A longtime Spokane resident, Mr. Breeden died Wednesday. He was born in St. Maries.
He graduated from North Central High School in 1936 and married Jean Scamahorn in 1940.
Mr. Breeden worked for Old National Bank from 1937 to 1943 and served in the Navy during World War II.
He later worked as an engineer for the Milwaukee Railroad from 1943 until his retirement in 1980.
Mr. Breeden was a lobbyist for the state and national levels of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen and was a charter member of the Esmeralda and MeadowWood golf associations. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Susan Street of Veradale; a son, Donald Breeden of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Dorothy Wilson; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Dorothea Collins Spokane
Vigil for Dorothea D. Collins, 74, will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
A 50-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Collins died Wednesday. She was born in Harlan, Iowa.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Lawrence; a son, Douglas Hamilton of Spokane; a daughter, Kathy Johnson of Iowa; three sisters, Bette Hogeland of Avoca, Iowa, Bonnie Mandelkow of Harlan and Alice Swensen of Audubon, Iowa; and two grandchildren.
