Mom Won’T Ghostwrite Until She Gets $10 Million

Compiled By Staff Writer Kimberl

Post columnist Cindy Adams reported Monday that Monica Lewinsky’s mother would serve as her ghostwriter and was holding out for a $10 million offer before she “puts pen to paper or Monica puts knife to Clinton.”

Marcia Lewis is the author of a book about the sex lives of famed tenors Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras.

Judith Regan, head of Regan Books, a division of HarperCollins, said publishers have become more cautious about making seven-figure offers because some of the big book deals that sprang from the O.J. Simpson case wound up losing a lot of money.

So far, the tabloid Star has offered Lewinsky $1 million for exclusive rights to her story and HarperCollins has offered $2 million for a book.

Loose talk Actor Kevin Bacon on “The Guitar Show with Kevin Bacon,” a weekly AMFM Radio Networks show in which rock guitarists will discuss their influences: “The good news is, it’s not a show about me; I’m not the interesting part.”

Hillary’s not talking, either

The Austrian newspaper Kro-Nenzeitung, which has a circulation of 2.8 million, has canceled Hillary Clinton’s syndicated column because she hasn’t commented on the scandal that has plagued her husband. “While the world is continuously confronted with new details about the president’s sex scandal,” said a note from the newspaper’s editors to its readers, “Bill Clinton’s wife writes about hurricanes. … This is the reason we have decided to discontinue ‘What Hillary Thinks.’ “

King of horror says creepy crawlies are his fright

In England on a book tour, author Stephen King told the Guardian newspaper he is “terrified of spiders. Snakes don’t bother me. But I hate bugs.”

Flack admits he inhaled, but it was second-hand

A journalist who interviewed Willie Nelson before a performance in Long Island, N.Y., last week told the New York Post he was so stoned afterward, from breathing in second-hand smoke from “at least six joints” smoked by Nelson, that he couldn’t find his car. “When I left the bus my head was spinning. … I was forced to get a hotel room in a Holiday Inn across the street.” A spokesman for the singer said the incident was “possible.”

Sonny’s gone, now so are Cher’s tattoos

Cher, who told Newsday “We all have to move on,” is having her tattoos removed.

Wedding bells take her to a different world

Jasmine Guy marked the end of an 18-month road trip with her own wedding. The actress, whose career began on TV’s “A Different World” and soared with movie roles as well as a just-completed 18-month tour as lead in the musical “Chicago,” married investment broker Terrence Duckette. The couple exchanged wedding vows on Aug. 22 during a private ceremony, her publicist said.
