Zelma Reinertsen Spokane
Funeral Mass for Zelma L. Reinertsen, 75, is planned for 11 a.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Private burial will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Reinertsen, who was born in Wenatchee, died Wednesday.
She was a longtime Spokane resident and worked as an accountant for several Spokane businesses.
Mrs. Reinertsen was a member of the Association of Women Accountants and the National Secretaries Association International.
Survivors include her companion, Sam Cozzetto of Spokane; a daughter, Vicki Wright of Boise; a brother, Dwight Simmons of Spokane; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spokanimal Care, American Cancer Society or to St. Anthony Parish.
Royce ‘Cookie’ Shahan Colfax, Wash.
Funeral for Royce “Cookie” Shahan, 69, will be at 11 a.m. today at Colfax Nazarene Church. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe, Wash. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Shahan, who died Friday, was born in Colfax.
In 1949 he married Sherry Flowers in Garfield, Wash.
He farmed and raised cattle until his retirement. He moved back to Colfax about five years ago.
Mr. Shahan was a member of the Colfax Elks Lodge, the Garfield Grange and the Washington Hereford Association. He also served on the Hereford Association board for a few years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronald Shahan of Steptoe; two daughters, Mikelyn Getz of Kennewick and Dawn Price of Moscow, Idaho; a sister, Neva Kelley of Coeur d’Alene; and nine grandchildren.

Margaret Harrison Spokane
Memorial service for Margaret A. “Maggie” Harrison, 81, will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Private inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harrison, who died Thursday, was born in Kellogg, Idaho.
She was a homemaker and a 42-year resident of Spokane.
Mrs. Harrison was a member of St. Peter’s Parish and the Golden Singles. She was a volunteer with Morning Star Boys Ranch, Meals on Wheels and the Retreat House.
Her husband of 44 years, Clarence, died in 1983.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Harrison of Spokane, Randall Harrison of Medical Lake and Duane Harrison of Post Falls; a daughter, Marilyn Kay of Spokane; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Louise (Jones) Borg Spokane
Funeral for Louise (Jones) Borg, 73, is planned for 3 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7thth Ward. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Borg, who was born in Manti, Utah, died Wednesday.
She graduated from Manti High School and in 1944 from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah.
In 1946 she married James Borg in Manti. They lived in Provo, Utah; Midvale, Wash.; and Tacoma and settled in Spokane in 1956.
Mrs. Borg worked for Dick Redinger State Farm Insurance in the early 1970s and as a human resource assistant in the personnel department at InterLake School from 1973 to 1991.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various positions including translating German genealogy records into English.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Gregory Borg of Spokane, Kimble Borg of Stevensville, Md., Christofer Borg of Bellevue, Wash., and Mikel Borg of Austin, Texas; three daughters, Susan Borg and Kathryn Jessen, both of Spokane, and Shannon Borg of Houston; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mildred Hall Davenport, Wash.
Funeral for Mildred L. Hall, 89, is set for 11 a.m. today at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport. Burial will follow at Mondovi Cemetery in Davenport.
Mrs. Hall, who was born in Spokane and was a longtime Davenport resident, died Thursday.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church Ladies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Hall.
Mrs. Hall is survived by two sons, Robert Hall of O’Brien, Ore., and Raymond Hall of Pahrump, Nev.; two daughters, Norma Schaal of Seabeck, Wash., and Phyllis Moss of Lacey, Wash.; two brothers, Lynn Murbach of Bayview, Idaho, and Lawrence Murbach of Seattle; four sisters, Neva Ralph of Spokane, Helen Reinbold of Davenport, Mary Lou Fisk of Walla Walla and Lois Morris of Orofino, Idaho; eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Lucile Schmidt Davenport, Wash.
Funeral Mass for Lucile Schmidt, 90, is set for 2 p.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schmidt, who died Saturday, was an 80-year resident of Davenport.
She was born in Spokane and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Schmidt was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Country Homes Club and a was a 50-year member of the Bluestem Grange.
Her husband, Walter, died in 1974.
She is survived by a son, Walter Schmidt of Edwall, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Ann Schaal Spokane
Visitation for Ann P. Schaal, 81, will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Schaal, who died Thursday, was a 68-year resident of Spokane.
She was born in Sanish, N.D., and graduated from North Central High School in Spokane.
Mrs. Schaal worked as a waitress for several years at the Opportunity Cafe.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Elroy Schaal, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, David Prescott of Spokane; a daughter, Betty Wood of Mead; a sister, Delphine Lovell of Spokane; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Raymond Emley Bellingham
Funeral for Raymond David Emley, 85, is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Jerns Funeral Chapel in Bellingham. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Spokane.
Mr. Emley, a former Spokane resident, died Friday.
He was born and raised in Spokane and worked with Garrett Freight Lines in Spokane for 30 years. He moved to Bellingham five years ago.
Survivors include a son, David Emley of Bellingham; a daughter, Sally Howell of Salem, Ore.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
John Holling Spangle
Graveside service for John Holling, 59, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Rosalia, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Holling, who was born in Spokane and raised in Spangle, died Friday.
He graduated from Spangle High School and served in the Navy from 1957 to 1963.
Mr. Holling farmed in Spangle and was a member of the Spangle Gun Club, Spangle Service Club and served on the board of directors for the Bank of Fairfield and Spangle Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; three daughters, Dana Holling of Spokane, Debbie Ehrlich of Orting, Wash., and Denisa Weeks of Spangle; a sister, Carol Delaney of Spokane; and four grandchildren.
Dover Fitzthum Spokane
Visitation for Dover S. Fitzthum, 72, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is set for 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Havillah, Wash. Burial will follow at Havillah Cemetery.
Mr. Fitzthum, who was born in Havillah, Wash., died Thursday.
He was raised in the Havillah and Tonasket, Wash., areas. In 1949 he married Vera Duchow in Havillah and worked for Boise Cascade for 15 years.
Mr. Fitzthum moved to Spokane from Tonasket in 1952 and retired in 1979 as a warehouse foreman.
He was a member of the Neighbors of Woodcraft and Handymen of America.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Jayne Olson of Spokane, Inez Heine of Chewelah, Wash., Ruth Wade of Whitefish, Mont., and Victoria Lee of Kent, Wash.; two sons, Douglas Fitzthum of Spokane and Curtis Fitzthum of Newport, Wash.; three brothers, Don Fitzthum of Spokane, Randolph Fitzthum of Shelton, Wash., and Randolph Fitzthum of Oroville, Wash.; a sister, Evelyn Ristine of Federal Way, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.

Victor Ritter Spokane
Visitation for Victor H. Ritter, 79, will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
Mr. Ritter, who was born in Spokane, died Friday.
He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Ritter returned in 1945 to Spokane, where he joined his father at Ritter’s Jewelry Store.
He then began his own wholesale jewelry business until his retirement.
Mr. Ritter was a member of the American Gem Society, the Manito Masonic Lodge and First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Eloise Thornton of Spokane; two stepsons, Neil and Steve Ritter, both of Spokane; and a grandson.

Elizabeth Kunze Colfax, Wash.
Rosary for Elizabeth Kunze, 61, is planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colfax. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at Colfax Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kunze, who was born in Waterville, Wash., died Sunday.
She moved in 1940 to Colfax and in 1955 graduated from Colfax High School.
In 1957 she married Norman Kunze in Colfax, and in 1988 she graduated from Spokane Community College with a secretarial degree.
Mrs. Kunze worked as a secretary at Nu-Chem and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, JoAnne Weathermoon of Spokane, Susan Grahm of Brookings, Ore., and Betsy Modrak of Boise; a son, Michael Kunze of California; four sisters, Jan Templeton of Tacoma, Linda Gaines of Spangle, Patsy Carpenter of Colbert and Lori Schmitz of Olympia; a half-sister, Julie Smith of Clarkston, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

Robert Willey Cheney
Memorial service for Robert M. Willey is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cheney Funeral Chapel.
Born in Colfax, Wash., Mr. Willey died Friday at the age of 54.
He retired from the Army National Guard and was a member of the Cheney Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Willey was a volunteer firefighter for 14 years and an emergency medical technician for nine years with the Rosalia (Wash.) Fire Department.
He was a three-year Cheney resident, having previously lived in the Rosalia area.
Survivors include his wife, Wendy; two sons, Michael and Joshua Willey, both of Cheney; two brothers, Bill Willey of Cheney and Lewis Willey of Rosalia; and two sisters, Betty Newbigging of Tum Tum, Wash., and Bev Schniffer of Fargo, N.D.

Charles Edwards Spokane
Graveside service for Charles E. Edwards, 70, is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Edwards, who died Friday, was a 30-year Spokane resident.
He was born in Acapulco, Mexico, and served in the Army during the Korean War, where he earned the Service Medal with one bronze star.
Mr. Edwards worked as a machinist in the sheet metal industry and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian; four children, Charlie Edwards Jr., Teresa Shakley, and Johnny and Jeffrey Edwards, all of Seattle; three stepchildren, Ronda Toon and Colleen Bauch, both of Spokane, and Terry Elixman of Seattle; three brothers, Adolph Edwards of Spokane, and Art and Rod Edwards, both of Seattle; and a sister, Carmen Jenson of Snohomish, Wash.
Roy Hathaway Spokane
Memorial service for Roy W. Hathaway, 74, will be held at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hathaway, who was born in Spokane, died Friday.
He worked as a meat cutter and a meat market manager for 25 years.
Mr. Hathaway was a World War II veteran and was a member of the Deer Park Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Laverne; three sons, Stephen, Richard and Mark Hathaway, all of Spokane; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Kay Irvine Spokane

Mrs. Irvine, who died Saturday, was born in Spokane.
She graduated from Riverside (Wash.) High School in Riverside.
In 1963 she married David Irvine at Fairchild Air Force Base. She owned and managed the I.B.S. Tax Service for 20 years.
Mrs. Irvine participated in several bowling leagues and served as a league secretary for many years. She was also active in the Student Parent Alternative Classroom Experience for the Central Valley School District.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Lynnette Heidenreich of Spokane; two sons, Dennis and Marc Irvine, both of Spokane; her parents, Robert and Dora Hippler of Elk; a brother, Rob Hippler of Eloika Lake, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
