Hints From Heloise

Dear Heloise: I’ve had trouble in the past with getting spilled correction fluid off my hands. One day I didn’t put the top back on tight, went to use it again and got it all over my hands. I went to the bathroom and tried to wash it off with soap and water. No luck, so I tried several other things, but they didn’t work. Finally, I tried nail-polish remover and it worked wonders. I put some on a cotton ball and just rubbed away. Jeanette Ellis, Staunton, Va.

Dear Heloise: I keep a picnic cooler in the trunk of my car. After grocery shopping on hot days, if I’m some distance from home or won’t be going there right away, I put the groceries that need to be refrigerated right into the cooler.

I usually don’t add ice, just letting the frozen food maintain the cool, but sometimes I buy a bag of ice to avoid possible spoilage or thawing. - Mary Jane Reed, Reston, Va.
