Proposal Would Add Parking At Trailhead
The Sandpoint Ranger District is working on plans to establish a snowmobile trailhead at Huckleberry Campground up Trestle Creek Road.
The area now has no snowmobile parking, and snowmobilers park their trucks and trailers along the narrow roadway, which gets heavy use in the winter, according to the Ranger District.
The district proposes to develop a parking facility at Huckleberry Campground. A volunteer organization has pledged labor and equipment, and Bonner County has agreed to plow the road to the parking area in the winter.
