Mt. Spokane Walk Planned
About 2,000 people will be walking the slopes of Mount Spokane Saturday as part of the fourth annual Climb Mount Spokane for Your Heart walk to benefit a Heart Institute of Spokane cardiovascular research program.
The walkers are expected to include 79 corporate teams, including one from Fairchild’s 97th Air Refueling Squadron currently stationed in Saudi Arabia whose members have created their own walk in the desert.
The 4-mile walk begins at 8 a.m. at the Selkirk Lodge parking lot and follows a paved road to the Summit Vista House.
The cost is $9 the day of the walk, and walkers can earn a T-shirt and other prizes by collecting or donating pledges.
