Tim North Kellogg
Memorial service and potluck for Tim North, 54, will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Shoshone Park, Kitchen No. 1 in Pinehurst, Idaho. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. North, who was born in South Dakota, died Thursday.
He moved to the Silver Valley in 1966 and worked at the Bunker Hill Mining Zinc Plant and was also a logger.
Mr. North recently worked in environmental reclamation in the Silver Valley.
He had served in the Navy during the Vietnam era and was a member of the Osburn Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; two sons, Joe and Sam North, both of Kellogg; two daughters, Lora North of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Donna Putnam of Longview, Wash.; 11 brothers and sisters, Geraldine Roth of Nebraska, Bill North, Sarah Otto, Lucy North and Bonnie Clark, all of South Dakota, Mary Alice Rose of California, and Delila, Peggy, Ted and Margaret North, and Susan Christmann, all of Idaho; and eight grandchildren.
Roy Baker Spokane
Funeral services for Roy C. Baker, 81, will be at 11 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mr. Baker, who was born in Butler, Tenn., died Wednesday.
He worked in the maintenance department at Eastern State Hospital from 1962 to 1980.
In 1971 he married Geraldine Collins in Cheney.
Mr. Baker was a 50-year member of the Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge No. 103 in Colton, Wash., and was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, El Katif Shrine and the El Katif Provost Grotto.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Linda Martin of Graham, Wash., and Bonnie Line of Albion, Wash.; a son, David Baker of Spokane; three stepchildren; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Eastern Washington.
Emma Way Spokane
Graveside service for Emma E. Way, 89, will be at 10 a.m. today at Riverside Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Way, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Friday.
She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and worked as a stockroom employee at Wright’s Five and Dime in downtown Spokane. She also worked as a waitress at various restaurants.
Mrs. Way was a member of the Lutheran church and the Brig and Forecastle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Way.
Mrs. Way is survived by two nephews, Dick Pohle of Spokane and James Pohle of Monroe, Wash.; and two nieces, Evelyn Merrill of Spokane and Lucille Rettokowski of Reardan, Wash.
Edward Knudson Spokane
Memorial service for Edward R. Knudson, 23, will be at 7 p.m. today at the Church of the Resurrection. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Knudson, who was born in Spokane, died Wednesday.
He was a 1993 graduate of Shadle Park High School.
Survivors include his mother, Vickie Knudson of Spokane; his grandmother, Carma Matter of Spokane; and a brother, Pete Knudson, and a sister, Evelyn Knudson, both of Spokane.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Resurrection.
Alice Powers Spokane
Funeral for Alice A. Powers, 89, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Spokane East Stake Center. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Powers, who died Tuesday, was born in Grand Junction, Colo.
She lived in Othello, Wash., for 40 years before moving to Spokane seven years ago.
Her husband George preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Zelma Giles of Spokane; two sons, Darrell Davis of Columbia, S.C., and James Powers of Lakebay, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
