The 1998 Northwest Dance and Cheer Festival will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. at GoKart Family Fun in Coeur d’Alene. The event features cheerleading, team dancing, individual dancing and partner dancing. Prizes awarded. For more information, or to register, call Dave Ellis at (208) 667-3919.

Youth Leadership Spokane is accepting applications for its 1998-99 class. YLS is looking for young people with leadership potential. The program starts in November and runs through June with twice-monthly classes. The program is open to high school sophomores and juniors. For applications, call 742-9399.
