Gunshots Damage House

From Staff

As many as four bullets damaged a house late Saturday in a shooting outside a Lilac Lane home.

The 62-year-old homeowner found a bullet hole in the tin roof awning above his porch, according to a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department report. Bullets also had splintered the awning’s wooden braces.

Harold McEvers told sheriff’s deputies he heard four loud bangs that sounded like gunshots about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The sounds appeared to come from the westbound Interstate 90 on-ramp at Sherman Avenue.

Deputies collected a bullet on the ground near the man’s front door.
