Shell Shocked

Aquarist Akira Kanezaki shows off the recently molted shell of a Giant Japanese Spider Crab last week at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, Calif. The crab this shell came from is between 5 and 8 years old. This is only the second time in North America that such a crab has molted. The first time was about two weeks ago at the New England Aquarium in Boston.
