Louis Gardipee Spokane
Memorial service for Louis J. Gardipee, 67, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1435. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Lewistown, Mont., Mr. Gardipee died Thursday.
He served in the Navy during World War II and later worked on road construction in Spokane.
Mr. Gardipee was a member of the Community Radio Watch Central Band Club, was a member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1435 and a member and past Seam Squirrel of the Cooties PT 23.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ruth; two sons, Lyle and Louis Gardipee, both of Spokane; five daughters, Debbie VanNote, Donna Johnson and Jamie Hacker, all of Spokane, Diane Veltri of Coeur d’Alene and Denise Allen of Wiscasset, Maine; and 12 grandchildren.
Warren Meagher Spokane
Funeral Mass for Warren L. Meagher, 75, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Meagher, who was born in East Haven, Conn., died Thursday.
He served in the military during World War II and later became a teacher.
Mr. Meagher taught for more than 30 years, first teaching in New York and then for 20 years in Sprague, Wash.
He had been a Spokane resident for more than 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Gisele; two sons, Patrick Meagher and Kevin McKinney, both of Spokane; a daughter, Carol Schafer of Mead; a sister, Jo Barton of White Plains, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to Catholic Charities.
Wilma Christensen Greenacres
Funeral for Wilma Elizabeth Christensen, 93, will be at 10 a.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Christensen, who was born in Cuba, Ill., died Friday.
She married Fred Christensen in Poplar, Mont., in 1924 and they moved to Spokane in 1948.
Mrs. Christensen was a homemaker, and a member of the Orchard Avenue Women’s Club and Millwood Presbyterian Church.
Her husband died in 1974.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Scott of Veradale, Marjorie Hays of Kennewick and Joyce Schalock of Corvallis, Ore.; a sister, Edith Richards of Poplar, Mont.; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
David Bunker Spokane
Memorial service for David G. Bunker, 71, was Sunday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Bunker, who was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., died Wednesday.
He served in the Navy during World War II and later owned B.J. Auto Center for many years. He had been a resident of Spokane for 44 years.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty; a daughter, Cara Champlange Beaucaire of Spokane; and a brother, Dennis Bunker of Wisconsin.
Ed Masterson Spokane
Visitation for Ed Masterson, 73, will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Masterson, who was born in Colville, Wash., died Wednesday.
He was a 15-year Spokane County resident.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Lynn; four daughters, Crystalyn and Antonette Masterson, both of Spokane, Rhonda DeLosSantos and Wanda Phillips, both of Ukiah, Calif.; two sons, Robert and Joseph Masterson, both of Spokane; a brother, Clayton Masterson of Seattle; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Judy Cowan Spokane
No service will be held for Judy Ann Cowan, 60, at her request. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cowan, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.
She married Bill Cowan in 1956 and was a homemaker.
Survivors include five sons, Michael, Anthony and James Cowan, all of Spokane, Joe Cowan of Portland and David Cowan of Troy, N.Y.; two daughters, Jodi Naker and Mary Helean, both of Spokane; her mother, Grace Heintz of Spokane; a brother, John Heintz of Alachua, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Malagodi of Boston, Fay Housholder of Washington state and Emily Heintz of Sumner, Wash.; and 11 grandchildren.
Marion Raymond Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Marion Raymond, 83, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Raymond, who was born in North Dakota, died Thursday.
She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1928 and then to Cocolalla, Idaho, before moving to Cheney, and graduating from high school there.
She moved to Spokane after high school and also lived in the Washington towns of Waverly and Palouse before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1962.
Mrs. Raymond worked as a cook at Washington State University and served as head baker at Eastern Washington University.
Her husband of 36 years, Jack, died in 1972.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Randall of Coeur d’Alene; a brother, Tom Brown of Spokane; two sisters, Lucille Whetzel of Spokane and Gertrude Grover of California; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
