Kids’ ministry will be topic

A children’s ministry workshop, designed for all those who work with young people, will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at Zion Christian Center, 545 E. Wellesley.

The workshop, co-sponsored by Group Publishing in Loveland, Colo., will offer hands-on training, resources and ideas for fun activities.

Presenters include Chris Yount, editor of Children’s Ministry Magazine; Keith Johnson, director of International Children’s Ministries for the Billy Graham Association; and Craig Jutila, children’s pastor at Saddleback Community Church.

Eckankar seminar planned

A regional Eckankar seminar will be next Friday through Sunday at the downtown DoubleTree Hotel. There will be programs for children and youths as well as adults.

Cost: $40 adults, $10 teens and $8 children.

As part of the seminar, a discussion of the book “A Modern Prophet Answers Your Key Questions About Life,” by Harold Klemp, will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Auntie’s Bookstore, 402 W. Main. (326-7178)
