Boys and girls between ages 14 and 16 can mix the lake fun of a summer camp with the education of seminars with professionals in soil, forest and range science at a special youth camp on Lake Coeur d’Alene,

The Inland Empire Natural Resources Youth Camp, June 13-19, is conducted by conservation districts, Society of American Foresters, Society for Range Management, Society of Professional Soil Scientists, Soil and Water Conservation Society, University of Idaho and Washington State University Cooperative Extension.

Seminars are mixed with activities such as swimming, hiking and games. Campers learn leadership skills and basic natural resource management.

The facility is Camp N-Sid Sen on the lake’s east shore nine miles north of Harrison, Idaho.

Pre-registration is required. Cost is $190. Some scholarships are available. Register at conservation district offices or cooperative extensions. Info: Shelly Lassiter, (509) 323-2987.
