Forgery Suspect Held

A Spokane Valley man was arrested at a Greenacres tavern on Sunday afternoon on suspicion of forging a check.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Richard R. Ramsey, 37, of 9416 E. Montgomery, at the Cum Inn Tavern, 18221 E. Corbin Place.

An employee at the tavern said that a man entered the business at around 2 p.m. and tried to cash a check for $378. She called police because of past problems with lost or stolen checks.

Deputies said the check was either stolen or lost from a Spokane Valley business.

Ramsey was booked into Spokane County Jail.
